2020 Merlot Renatus

The wine is opaque ruby ​​red in color and dense. The bouquet is intense, very fine and rich. We detect the aroma of overripe red fruits and berries (sour cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black plum),  jam, spices. The taste of the wine is dry, warm, very full-bodied, soft with velvety tannins, and the jammy taste is also noticeable in the mouth, very intense, with a long aftertaste.

Vintage: 2020

Grape variety: Merlot 100 %

Location of vineyards: terraces, south facing position

Soil composition: marl, sandstone

Harvesting: thinning of clusters in the initial phase of berry coloring, manual harvesting

Bottling:  1200 bottles of 0.75 l, 380 bottles of 1.5 l

Alcohol level: 15.5 vol.%

Total sulfite content: 70 mg/l

Serving temperature: from 18 to 20°C

Food pairing: Beef fillet, grilled red meat, game, dark chocolate. Aging potential: Wine is at the beginning of its journey,  suitable for consumption, but will gain in harmony and drinkability over time, probably reaching its peak at the age of 15.

Vinification

Vinification: fermentation with maceration for 21 days, gentle pressing and transfer to new oak barrels – barriques

Maturation: 24 months in barrique barrels
